Robocup National Champions

Well done to our Medbury School Robocup team 'Medbury Gizmos' of Nicholas Brown, Elliott Grey and Sean Jang who earned the title of National Robotic Open Class Soccer Champions at the Robocup National Championships on the weekend. Mr Grieve leads our innovative RoboProgers Club for boys in Years 4 to 8, which encourages collaboration and a flexible, problem-solving mindset.

















Book Week Parade

The Book Parade on 10 August was a sensational end to five days of Book Week activities and fun. Well done to the boys who dressed up as their favourite book character - there were some imaginative and creative costumes on display!

Arabian Nights Production

The Year 8 Production this year was a collective vision enhanced by the use of a 'google script' where the 'Tower Team' (led by William Sudell) slavishly scripted and shared their ideas.  Well done to all the boys on an excellent Production with audiences entertained at a Matinee on 3 July, and evening performances on 3 and 4 July.


Strength for South Sudan

The boys totally obliterated their goal of moving 40,000kg of water and rice on Friday 8 June during the 'Strength for South Sudan' fundraising event. Their total weight moved was 118,082kg over 40 metres.  We look forward to brining you the total amount raised in an upcoming 'Quarterly News' magazine.

STEAM Day

Medbury School was a hive of activity on 7 June for the school wide STEAM day (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Mathematics).  We look forward to sharing the photos from the amazing workshops with you in the next Quarterly News.

Breakfast with the Boys

The Medbury Parents' Association's annual 'Breakfast with the Boys' is always a highly anticipated and 'sell-out' event on the Medbury calendar, and this year was no exception.  Our speaker this morning was Dylan McNeice, a Professional Triathlete, compteting at an International level.  Thank you to Dylan for his inspirational message to the boys and to the Medbury Parents' Association for another sensational MPA event.

Cross Country

The Medbury School Cross Country was held on Tuesday 15 May. Well done to all the boys in Years 1 to 8 on their efforts!

 

 

 

 

 

 


Service of Remembrance

The Medbury School Service of Remembrance was held on Sunday 6 May.  The individually named crosses that the boys passed as they entered the service honour those Medbury Old Boys and Staff who lost their lives while serving their country during World War II. 


Sod Turning Ceremony

The Sod Turning Ceremony for the new teaching block was held on Monday 12 March, 2018. Read our construction updates here.

2018 Welcome Assembly

A warm Medbury welcome was extended to the 96 new boys and their families as they began their exciting journey.


School Leaders for 2018 announced

The School Leaders for 2018 were announced at the End of Year Prize Giving on 12 December 2017. They are:

  • Head Boy - George Cochrane
  • Deputy Head Boys - George Howard and Robbie de Cuevas
  • Head Boarder - Michael Li

Congratulations to these boys, and to all the other Prize Winners at the End of Year Prize Giving.


Runners-up at the New Zealand National Primary School Cricket Cup

Well done to all the boys who played in the finals, a fantastic result for our talented team.   Congratulations to Nicholas Gibb who was the MVP of the tournament, and special mention to Harry Sharr (2nd) and Nicholas Gibb (5th) for overall batting and Hamish Falls-Anderson and Nicholas Gibb (2nd equal) for bowling.

 

Grandparents' Day 2017
