POLO 2018 – YEARS 5 TO 8

This sport is only available for boys who are in Years 5 to 8.

Coaching Programme:

The boys will be coached by experienced polo players whom have played high goal polo worldwide. The small team of coaches is led by Charlie Wood who is a Medbury old boy, and credited with starting school polo at Medbury. Charlie teaches polo during the summer in England, and returns home to Waireka Polo Farm for the New Zealand summer. His main assistant this season is Alexander Rowland-Jones, who has come back to Waireka Polo Farm to teach polo after two years away playing polo in Australia.

Venue, Time and Coaching:

Training will be on Friday afternoons after school and on Saturday mornings when possible at Waireka Polo Farm, Sefton, North Canterbury.  Boys who play cricket on Saturday can attend the Friday training session only.

Interschools tournaments are held in November, February and March.

A fee of $46.00 for each visit to Waireka Polo Farm will be charged to your son’s school account at the end of Term 1 and Term 4 2018. An extra fee will be charged individually for entry to the interschool tournaments.

Boys and parents need to make their own arrangements for transport to training sessions at Waireka Polo Farm..
