Jenelle is a Registered Provisional Member with NZAC (New Zealand Association of Counsellors). Prior to Counselling, Jenelle taught Classical Studies and History for 15 years at Rangi Ruru Girls’ School and Burnside High School. She holds a Bachelor of Arts (First Class Hons) from Otago University, a Postgraduate Diploma in Teaching (Secondary) from the New Zealand Graduate School of Education and a Master of Counselling (with Distinction) from the University of Canterbury.
Cathy has been teaching for over 20 years at Medbury in the Learning Support field in the Junior School. She has also guided boys in the Enrichment program since 2003. Prior to Medbury she was a Junior classroom teacher. She is Reading Recovery and Speld trained.
Anne joined Medbury School as a new entrant teacher in 2001. During her time at Medbury, she has taught in the Junior, Middle and Senior areas of the school. Anne holds a Diploma of Teaching and Trained Teachers' Certificate from Christchurch Teachers’ College.
Anne completed a Bachelor of Teaching and Learning in 2000 and taught at New Brighton Catholic until 2009. After that Anne relieved in local schools. She began relieving at Medbury in 2013 and has been a learning support teacher in the Middle School team since 2015.
Ali completed a Post Graduate Diploma of Teaching in Primary Education in 2006, which followed the completion of a Bachelor of Science in Human Nutrition in 2002. After teaching in South Korea, Blenheim and Qatar she returned to Christchurch to raise her 2 sons and relieve at the local school. In 2019 she completed her year-long SPELD NZ training.
Becky has been teaching for over twenty years. She holds a Bachelor of Education from the University of Canterbury and a Diploma of Teaching from the Christchurch College of Education. Becky is Reading Recovery trained and a registered SPELD NZ tutor. Prior to joining Medbury, Becky was the Learning Support Coordinator at another Independent School in Canterbury.
Gaylene has worked at Medbury School since 2008. She qualified as a Kindergarten teacher at Christchurch Teachers College in 1982. She taught in Christchurch for several years before travelling to work and live in the UK. Gaylene gained her full teacher's registration in 2006 on her return to New Zealand. She taught at the University of Canterbury Student Association Child Care Centre before coming to work at Medbury as a Teacher Aide.
Tracy has a Diploma of Teaching from North Shore Teachers College in Auckland and received her Trained Teachers Certificate in 1984. She taught in Auckland for several years before travelling to the UK. On her return to New Zealand in 2008, she began working at Medbury as a Teacher Aide. Tracy provides literacy, numeracy and ESOL support throughout the middle and senior school areas.
Kathryn has been a Teacher Aide at Medbury since 2005. She graduated with an Honours Degree in Business and Finance, gained a postgraduate Degree in Psychology from Massey University, and then a Certificate in Learning Support from Canterbury University. Kathryn currently works with the middle and senior school groups providing literacy, numeracy and ESOL support.
Karen has been a Teacher Aide at Medbury since October 2016. She comes to us from Avonhead School where she worked as a Teacher Aide supporting students in specialised programmes. She has a Bachelor of Pharmacy degree from the University of Otago, and worked in community pharmacy before moving into the education sector. Karen works in the Senior School providing literacy and numeracy support
Jonathan previously worked in the Medbury After School Care programme, before becoming a Teacher Aide. He has also been studying at the University of Canterbury towards a Bachelor of Arts (Philosophy, History and Political Science).
Originally from England, Richard has recently gained teacher aide experience at CBHS. Knowing the importance for children to establish a firm educational foundation, he is very much looking forward to doing all that he can to help the Year 8 boys achieve this, and to make the most of their final year at Medbury. With a wide range of hobbies and interests, Richard can occasionally be found pottering in the garden or dabbling with DIY.
Kaitlyn has been working with children since the age of 14 through church ministry, holiday programs, as a Kids/Youth Worker, and now a Teacher Aide. She has completed a Certificate in Youthwork, a Diploma of Ministries, a Bachelor of Ministries, and is halfway through completing a Certificate in Education Support. Her career passion lies in educating young minds and supporting each child she meets to develop and achieve to the best of their abilities whilst making it enjoyable along the way. Outside of work, she loves being a housewife and doing anything involved with creativity.
