Alex has been at Medbury School since 2015 and is the Year 8 Team Leader. Prior to this, he taught at Avonhead School from 2013 - 2015 in a Years 7 and 8 class, while also being Head of Sport. He has a Bachelor of Sport Coaching from Canterbury University and a Graduate Diploma of Teaching and Learning.
Andrew has taught in private schools both in New Zealand and overseas for many years, including five years at King’s School in Auckland. This followed a rugby career that took him to Japan to live and play. Originally from Christchurch, Andrew and his wife Lesley and their two children have recently moved to Christchurch from Auckland
Suzanna Lind joined Medbury in January 2018, having previously taught Year 6 at St Joseph's School in Oamaru. She holds a Bachelor of Education from the University of Otago endorsed with excellence. Working with Young Adults, and specifically, developing leaders, in this age group, is a huge passion of hers and she has been involved in different outreach voluntary programmes throughout Oamaru, Dunedin and Christchurch.
Alex joined the Year 8 academic staff in January 2020. Alex holds a Bachelor of Education from the University of Canterbury and has previously worked at Lomond School in Scotland and Heaton Normal Intermediate, which have provided her with a range of experiences including working in an international boarding school.
Richard joined Medbury in 2016. Prior to this he taught at Ashgrove School in Rangiora for two years. He is originally from Texas and he obtained a Bachelor of Arts with an emphasis in Public Relations and Spanish from Texas Tech University. Richard then went on to obtain a Graduate Diploma in Primary Teaching from Canterbury University.
Sarah has been teaching at Medbury since the beginning of 2015, prior to this she worked at Our Lady Star of the Sea School in Sumner. She has taught at various levels from Years 3 to 8 during her teaching career. She has a Bachelor of Arts majoring in Education from Canterbury University and a Graduate Diploma of Teaching and Learning.
Kayla has previous teaching experience at Independent schools in Auckland, teaching both the New Zealand Curriculum and the Cambridge Curriculum. She is originally from North Waikato and gained her Bachelor of Education at The University of Auckland. Kayla has recently moved to Christchurch with her fiancée and daughter and has been relief teaching at a range of schools. She has a passion for the performing arts, having previously choreographed a Senior Primary Production in 2020.
