On Friday Medbury welcomed four woodwind musicians from the Christchurch Symphony Orchestra (CSO) for a Woodwind Showcase. An orchestral workshop will also be held each term, where the boys will have the opportunity to play and learn alongside members of the CSO.
The opportunities are part of the Centre of Excellence for Music at Medbury School, a collaboration between Medbury School and the Christchurch Symphony Orchestra to create a hub dedicated to nurturing musical talent and innovation.
Medbury has long enjoyed a relationship with the CSO and has a number of boys already involved in CSO Ambassadors, NXT Gen Think Tank and Accelerando Strings. Many of our current Itinerant Music Teachers play in the CSO.
With state-of-the-art facilities and unparalleled mentorship and coaching for both students and staff from CSO professionals, boys at Medbury School will have access to world-class musical training and a chance to showcase their talents at workshops and concerts and refine their skills under the guidance of seasoned professionals.
